One way the opposition seems to have turned the "foreign stooges" accusation on its head. Sent by someone in Tehran to a Gulf list, name withheld:

"The Arab, Israeli, Palestinian analogies and rumors are common. On the Saturday after the election, I was in Vanak Sqaure when riot police showed up on motor bikes. When they were spotted the person behind me told us to run by yelling 'the Israelis have come.' On Saturday and Sunday several people commented that 'they have turned the city in Palestine.' The they referred to the Iranian authorities."
