Calling all Constitutional scholars out there. Check out this last quote from the aforementioned Knight Ridder piece on the covert propaganda programs our Pentagon is treating global journalism to. "...Andrew Card once said, as quoted in The New Yorker magazine[,] 'In our democracy, the people who represent the public stood for election. I don't believe you have a check-and-balance function.'" Um, no check and balance function, for the four years after an administration is elected? I don't think so. That sort of flexible attitude towards the law didn't do so well for Duke Cunningham, did it?
