A Warrior's Honor. The LA Times' T. Christian Miller recounts the story of the highest ranking US military official, Col. Ted Westhusing, who was determined to have commit suicide in Iraq. It is a story of someone deeply devoted to military honor, a West Point grad, teacher and PhD in philosophy, who was basically destroyed by the corruption and greed he witnessed in Iraq as one of the top commanders involved in training Iraqi police recruits. Beyond heartbreaking, it is one more individual story of idealism crushed by experience that seems to speak to the larger tragedy of the American project in Iraq.
