Let it not be said that there are no idealists among us. Horrified by the inaction in the face of the evidence of genocide and mass expulsions in Darfur, these guys have launched an interactive website intended to produce concrete ideas on how to fix the UN Charter. Among the names of participants I recognize are OxBlog's Patrick Belton and a few folks from my grad school, where A Problem from Hell author Samantha Power has basically singlehandedly created a center on human rights policy. Check them out. Whoever is elected in November, they should beg and plead to make Power the US ambassador at large for war crimes.
Update: Princeton Lyman and Cheryl Igiri have a new report at the Council on Foreign Relations on "Giving Meaning to 'Never Again': Seeking an Effective Response to the Crisis in Darfur and Beyond" [note, .pdf linked].
