Bob Drogin's Los Angeles Times article on US officials coming to believe they may have been duped about Iraq's weapons program by fake defectors (and their own predilection to believe) raises many questions. Which defectors exactly? And what was the role of the INC and its leader Ahmed Chalabi in putting forward such people? Were the people over at the INC too duped? Or were they agents of the disinformation, because it served their own ends?
